Windshield

When the ball and chain was trying to get a point across in a firm manner an object destind for me hit the windshield and put a small repairable crack in the windshield. Does anyone know a good local mobile repair shop in Palm Bay, FL. I called safelite, they want $120 plus $19 for a mobile. Ive had them fixed at home for under $50, so I feel I'm being ripped off by them.

Look up "GlassWeld Windshield Repair," and call their national number. The will give you the closest dealer. I have used them for chips and pits and they do a great job of not seeing the repair.

I just looked it up and their website is http://www.glassweld.com

Just tell the insurance you were driving with the window open and a rock ricocheted off the frame and hit the front window on the inside....

The big question for me is why the heck was your wife throwing something at you that was solid and fast enough to crack your windshield????????

It is my understanding from talking to our Insurance Agent that the $50 crack/pinhole(rock ding) fix, (which was a standard item a few years back,) is not as acceptable or as popular. It is my belief that the insurance companies have determined that if they get you to pay the deductible it is better for them to just have the windshield/glass replaced. Many of those pinhole and crack repairs were short lived or not very satisfactory. I never had problems with them but maybe the industry as a whole did. Our insurance is State Farm and if they frown on the drill a relief hole, suction/glue type of pinhole repair is not what it used to be maybe the rest have or will followed.

Just MHT(thought)

It is important to determine if the crack in in the inner or outer piece of laminate of your windshield. By sliding a razor blade over the glass you should be able to feel the damage. You can then tell the repair tech on the phone that you have damage on the inside. Many windshield repair techs are not set up or trained to repair inner laminate chips and cracks. I strongly suggest not to use super glue as mentioned above. Note: I used to own a windshield repair business.

Many insurances will dispatch and pay for windshield repair. Suggest to check with your insurance first.

Mario-John, the company that makes or does the windshields for RV's is called GUARDIAN RV GLASS. If you look on your windshield in the bottom corner there is some numbers. Write those numbers down and call GUARDIAN RV GLASS at 1-866-333-4899. There name maybe on the Glass. It is on mine. They also have a Web site www.rvglassparts.com. Either way they can repair or replace your windshield. They are nation wide. If you have someone else replace the windshield they have to get the replacement from them.
If you allow someone to replace your windshield I would also make them replace the rubber molding around it also. I hope this can help you.

Oh, its inside.. the coffee cup was thrown at me when I was sitting in the passenger seat all the way from the kitchen area. I'll be taking this out of the ball and chain's allowance for sure...

Well, check with your insurance for coverage even if its on the inside.

Then check on anger management classes for your spouse. That is not acceptable behavior for anyone.

Well it was partly my fault. The B&C has problems getting up in the morning, so the night before I put a jar of penny's in the freezer. I quitely peeld back the covers and poured the penny's. Bad move on my part. It was like an angry lion escaped from the cage.
