I have a 2007 Itasca, Sunrise, 35', Workhorse chassis. I have read all the articles on windshield leaks and have tried removing the rubber moulding above the windshield and resealing the entire top of the w/s, but no luck. The windshield leaks from the upper L/H corner of the pass. side, right next to the center post. The leak is heavy enough to soak a towel overnight. You can see water running down from the corner area.

Any ideas on how I can find the source of the leak?

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I just received the message as we do not have WiFi access very often. We are leaving Myrtle Beach tomorrow AM heading for Charleston, S.C. where we will be camped for 8 days. Any recommendations regarding windshield leak repair service for that area.

Winnebago has a known issue with windshield leaks. The body rusts and is a lot of the problem. They only way to see it is to take the molding off from the inside and look. If it is rust, a good body repair person can fix it and make it right.

I have a 2001 Winnebago Itasca Horizon. I had trouble finding the windshield leak. Turns out it did not leak around the seal, check your clearance lights above windshield, I calked each light as the water was entering the coach where the elect. wires came in. (solved my problem, hope this helps)

Hi Knightly,
I'm of the same opinion as cpmoore. The leak is, more than likely, coming from higher place in the front cap. Clearance lights and seals all around the roof on the front cap need to be truly sealed. Maybe with EternaBond. Go to RV Leak Repair Tapes & Sealants | EternaBond and read about it.

I have checked the inside of the cap in the area of the clearance lights and it appears totally sealed with foam so the wiring is not visible. If the lights or wiring was the source of the leak, I assume it would have to run down between the foam and cap? At any rate, the water is only visible from the inside when it drips out on the passenger side of the center w/s post. If I have the inside trim removed, the water drips onto the dash. I have checked the light gaskets and they appear to be OK, however I am not positive.

Were you able to see the clearance light wiring from the inside of the cap?

Just a suggestion. I also had a leak in my Journey. Water would drip from the plastic tub under the TV enclosure. I checked the windshield, caulked the clearance lights and put eternabond tape on the front cap-to-roof seam. My leak persisted. Turns out it was the little rubber ducky radio antenna. It is a two-piece deal and it was leaking where the top portion screwed onto the bottom portion. I sealed that well with some Geocel Pro Flex caulk and my leak stopped.

Had a adventure that leaked in the same place your describing,chased it for months. Finally found it. the water was coming in at the top of where the awnings were bolted to the motor home .water was running down the gutter and following the lag screw into the aluminum channel to the front of the wind shield . It looked like the wind shield was leaking. you take the lag screws out and caulk the holes and put them back in . It took care of mine

I was travelling around the USA last October, 2010 when I reported my windshield leak problem. I decided to wait until I got back home January 15, 2011 before taking it to a windshield shop as I thought it might be easier in case I needed follow up repairs. As it turns out, the first visit fixed the problem. The glass shop owner tested the entire windshield with an air pressure hose while an assistant checked the seal on the outside. I believe he used a soap solution. At any rate, the windshield seal was 100%. The next area to check was the 5 clearance lights above the windshield. In anticipation of these seals being the problem, I had ordered new gaskets from the Winnebago RV parts supplier in Forest City, Iowa. One of the five lights was found to have moisture in behind the gasket area! All the gaskets were replaced at that time as a precaution. Since then, we have had several heavy rainfalls and the windshield area has remained completely dry! The entire process cost me $75.00 + gaskets and took about 1 & 1/2 hours. I thought that was a very reasonable price considering the labour involved. In hindsite, I should have replaced the clearance light gaskets first, but I thought the leak was likely the windshield seal!

Thanks again for all the advice and the heads up on the clearance lights as being the probable cause. You were correct!

My 2005 Sunrise windshield leaked, Had resealed and surface rust removed. Today leaked at side windshield windows??? Never leaked here before. Windshield was dry.

HELP.....
