While pressing the switch, the shade goes up about two inches, stalls, I then release the switch, press the switch again and the shade goes up 2 more inches.

After the shade eventually gets to about halfway up the windshield, it then runs normally.

Anyone know what the problem is? and how it can be fixed?

When mine (2008) does this it means it's forgotten it's programmed positions and needs to be re-programmed.

I've attached the manual for mine - I'm not sure if your's is similar...
