We are looking for a company that makes the windshield screens that attach to the outside of the windshield and give some protection from the sun, yet you can still see through them.

Any company names/web sites appreciated.

Check out my picture. This is a sample of a Magna-Shade. It looks great and attaches with magnets. They can put just about any graphics you want on it. Good info on the web site and great folks to deal with

I have the Magne Shade also. Roger and Claire are great people to work with.

It is easier with two people for the initial install, but after that I can have the front shade up in less than 30 seconds. About 15 for each of the side windows.

Check out the web site link and look at the "designer" shades. They didn't have the designer ones when I purchased mine. Also, remember that the black (dark), as I understand, blocks more of the UV than the off shade colors.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct Wayne. Black is also the best "one-way mirror". Easy to see out, not so easy to see in during daylight hours. Love my Magne Shade!

We use Prompt Sunscreen and like it.
RV Sunscreen | No More Snaps, Drilling or Climbing
No mods necessary and don't need a ladder.

There are no snaps, drilling or climbing with the MAGNE Shade. It's all done from the ground. A 5' 4" lady can do it without stepping on Tippy Toes. (Well, maybe just a little)

Another vote for MCD.
We had the motorized ones installed on the windshield at the factory last year. They work much better than the old sun visors and when we are parked it is so easy to press the switch and drop either the solar or day shade as desired.

Plus I finally have something that keeps the sun coming from the side windows out of my eyes

I use the same windshield as "Not a Clue" from Prompt Sunscreen. I don't have any snaps or holes in the coach to attach it. I also have one for the drivers window, door and passenger window. They are about five years old and do keep the sun out.

I also like them because during the day other parties cannot see into the coach.

Thanks for the responses, been doing some research and talking to folks on the phone. Here are my observations:

Magne Shade: Very expensive, very nice, held in place by magnets.

MCD: Cheaper ($400 for exterior windshield and both side front windows), held in place by snaps, drilled into MH. Company is pushing inside screens, not exterior screens. Much more expensive, $800 for windshield only, plus installation charge. I'm leaning against inside since we already have twin full length power sun shades...MCD would pull those out to put in their own.

Prompt: Held in place by suction cups and straps...not sure how they'd hold up of parked on one spot for a long time...and it was windy.

RV Tailor: Primarily in the sewing business, not making specific products.

RV Toy Store: (http://www.rvtoystore.com/sunguard.html): Found this one surfing the net...$275 for three pieces...pick a color, pick a fastening procedure, six year warranty.

Any comments of you "real" users appreciated!

All I can say is that you get what you pay for. If you want the ease of instalation, no snaps/holes in your rig, not having to climb up on a ladder-----need I say more??

For what it's worth, I've had them all over the years. Started with the snaps...didn't like that system at all. On my next coach, went with Prompt. Prompt was a big improvement over the snaps. I now have Magne Shade and would never go back. Much easier than snaps OR Prompt, quality materials and construction, and like the man said "You get what you pay for". A great investment that will probably outlast my coach....and me!
