Winegard Satellite Dish will not Stow
My dish stalls when I am trying to stow it. I have to press a couple of times to get it finally stowed. It is on top of a 2005 Winnebago Journey. Model is Traveler SK-3005 Directv Slimline. Is it time for new system ($2200 to replace) or can this be fixed. Appreciate any input.

Everything can be fixed. Have you tried calling winegard? My guess is they will ask you to send it back for repair. That in itself is no easy move and after you get it back, you might just find it still doesn't work.
Personally, I would replace it with a new one from RF Mogul. I has been dealing with winegard all summer to repair my Traveler and it's still not working. Next move is to junk it.

You don’t give a location. There are satellite repair places but can be hard to find.
Chances are the arms have gotten bent or out of alignment and is stalling out.
I sur would have some one look at it before replacing it.
Good luck

Winegard has no, zero, zip, nada service outside of the factory. They are absolutely the worst. I have had two dead Travlers since I bought the first one 9 years ago. RF Mogul is expensive, roughly 2 grand for one. But they say parts are available for repair from them and can be easily fixed on the roof. So it might be worth while to you. Me? Not going to happen again. The Travler will probably go in the junk pile next spring and I will keep my ground based dish setup.

There is a simple reset for this. It is posted on the forum elsewhere.
It is the EL reset
The EL Calibration is as follows:
-Press and hold "enter" on the interface box until "enter user menu" appears.
-Press "select" to move the * next to yes, and then press "enter"
-Press "select" *2 times until the * is next to "installation" then press "enter"
-When asked for password, press "enter" 4 times
-Press "select" until the * is next to "calibrate EL", and then press "enter"
-Press “Select” to move the * to yes, then press *”enter”
-It will then say “calibrate el in progress”
-It will then say "on EL hard stop." *Verify with customer *If the satellite is still pointing straight up press "select" to move the * next to yes, and then press "enter"
-It should say calibrate EL success. *Once it does press "enter"
-Press "select" until the * is next to "exit" then press *“enter”
-It should now say "power off: yes/no." *Press "select" to move the * next to yes and then press "enter"

My rig came with a MotoSat HD dish set for Direct. Controller burned out, replaced it with an RF Mogul Eagle 1 controller. If the top unit goes bad I'll get the RF Mogul top end and have the controller reprogrammed.

As Hgrace said just do the calibration procedure he provided. Keep things simple. The problem with any forum is that everyone jumps to the most costly, complicated solution.

I agree with the statement about Winegard service. They want me to send it in. We are not youngsters that we can crawl on a roof of a RV and take it off and do what they said to do. The replacement is costly like I stated. We are in Florida heading to Daytona Beach. I found someone to come to campground there and look at it. We leave tomorrow from the place we are in now, Sanford FL. I hope the Satellite does not stall again when I go to stow it. If it does I will try Hgrace56 calibration process. Thanks everyone.

We've had no problem getting parts from Winegard. We've found Winegard dealer/installers nearby when we needed them, but admit both times we were in major metro areas. Biggest problem is the dealer/installers are booked out weeks at a time.

FYI, A new DirectTV Trav'ler is $1,527.19 from Amazon. Winegard also sells rebuilt units so you do not need to replace the entire system.
