Winegard Traveler-good price?

Camping World quoted me $1662 for the Dish version including tax and installation. Good price? Or I can buy it thru Amazon Prime for $1141 and have local dealer install it. He said about 4 hours for the install. It would be on a new Winnebago which is pre wired for Sat. Does 4 hours sound about right for the install? Thanks

Sounds like a very resonable quote to me. Four hours is very fair. Owning a service center that works in the 12 volt world doing custome installs there is nothing wrong with the four hours quote. Shop local if possible is always my recommendation.

I did the same thing. CW wanted $1200 for the Dish 1000 on sale and I talked with a local shop and they got it for me at $1100, but I'm pretty sure they got me for labor.
My first dish lasted 10 months and then the motor jammed in the up position and I had to take it apart to drive home. They sent me another one, good customer service, and paid to have it reinstalled. That one lasted for 15 months and they won't warrantee tthe second one past the warrarnty period for the first one or 24 months from the original purchase price.
I'm thinking about writing to Good Sam about that one. They'll sell me a reman turret for $450 (none in stock tho) or a new turret for $750 or a reman total unit for $850.

The install doesn't take very long, Just screw it down and seal it and run the cable to the control box. It's simple.

I purchased from Amazon, and had a local guy install it. Saved a couple hundred on the installation labor over CW. There is a good installation video on YTube. I am just paranoid about making holes in my roof, is why I had it installed by a pro.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like buying thru Amazon and getting a local install is the way to go. Hopefully it takes 4 hours or less.
