Winnebago Journey Onan 7500w won’t start
I have a 2004 Winnebago Journey with an Onan 7500 genset. Started and ran fine before hitting the road. Plugged in 1st night. 2nd night gen wouldn’t start. Cranks very good, puts out white smoke and acts like it’s not getting fuel. Not familiar with system, so not sure where to start. Any ideas are appreciated!

You need at least 1/4 tank of fuel for it to draw.

White smoke is fuel. May not be properly glowing, may have a low fluid cutoff going, but that would be fuel cutoff so probably not. There's ways to read codes.... Consult the instructions. Or, try a shot of ether. (Easy on that)

I will consult the book for the items you mention and will avoid ether as I don’t want to make anything worse. Will get back to you if any of your advice I don’t understand after consulting the manual.

We had ours serviced last fall after it quit on the way to Colorado and they found the fuel pump was shot. Ours is a 7500 and in an 01 Newmar. Runs good now after having it worked on.

You are the second person that mentioned this. Ours is a 7500 also, on an 04 Winnebago Journey. How long to fix? By R.V. repair shop, mobile repair, or truck shop? Was it spendy?

We had ours done last November at a Cummins Shop. The longest part was getting an appointment. We were pushed back 3 weeks because they only dedicate 1 bay and mechanic for generators. I think we had it back in less than a week. We also had the entire generator serviced at the same time. They trouble shot the problem within a day or so. I think total we had around $900 in it with labor.
