winter trip

I am taking a month to month and half road trip this winter. We are taking off from Vermont and want to head to Arizona. Has anyone done this trip during December-January? If you have what roads do you suggest I go on for things to see and do.
Thanks

Can ya' leave a little earlier?
10 years ago I delivered RV's up north to Burlington, man, what weather! Went to Keane, NH a couple times in the winter too...wow...
Plains states not a lot better, when the snow blows, and the temps take a dive, it really does not matter where you are, it is dangerous driving an RV...they love to skate!
Be careful...very careful...

I would suggest you head due south and pick up Interstate 10 in Jacksonville, FL then head west to avoid as much winter weather as possible.

No specifics but head south to above freezing temps asap. Also don't be afraid to look for a hole in the weather to make your dash south.
