I am a newbie so please excuse my ignorance. I am somewhat familiar with flushing system, dumping, then introducing compressed air and the other method of flushing, dumping, then RV anti-freeze. I know of both methods being used together (to keep seals, etc., from drying out).
I have not heard of the following method which seems most simple and effective. Please tell me why it won't work--flush system, dump, pour RV anti-freeze (perhaps 2 or 3 gallons) into gravity fed clear water inlet. Turn on pump to introduce to entire system and all water lines. When pink comes out of each faucet (kitchen, bath, shower, toilet)--you are finished. Why won't this work?
This seems like a science and the others seem like an art. They make me nervous. I would be comfortable with this method.

Must bypass your Hot water heater....you might have not seen this method discussed often because many of us do not have gravity fed tanks....

Avoid putting RV anti-freeze into your fresh water tank. This winterizing procedure, in left menu, will safely protect your RV plumbing.

That is one of the more common methods however there are two possible issues with it.
First, if your Fresh water tank drains completly, YOu are going to need a LOT of pink just to get the level up to where the pump can pump it, Why waste the money.
Second, MY fresh water tank DOES NOT drain completly leaving around 5 gallons of water in the tank that dilutes the pink (I have modified so I can drain better)
Finally, you pink the lines, you got to get rid of all that crap come spring.. You blow them out (Several times to be sure, waiting a minute or two between blows) and you have nothing to worry about come spring, Sanatize normally and you are good to go.
You still use pink in drain traps and toilets, but flushing them, NOT a problem (It's called normal operation) and need not be done till you have a better reason (IE: You sat a spell) in any case.
