Wiper adjustment

How do you adjust wipers to move from dash to cover more windshield?

Hi flangley,
The answer depends on what you are referring to. One can install larger wiper blades to cover more area. If you do this you may find the wipe is not as clean as the stock length. It all depends on the windshield.

If you are referring to the stroke length (left/right), this can not be changed. This is determined by the motor arm that connects the motor to the wiper lever arm (behind the front body). There are two strokes involved. One is on the motor and the other on the wiper arm.

You can remove the wiper arm from the pivot shaft and adjust it slightly higher than it is now. It will move the same distance just farther up the windshield.

wiper adjustment

That is about what I figured out but since I have never worked on them before I thought I would find someone that has. Thanks.

I had to use a small gear puller to get the wiper arm to release. I think it was for terminals on batteries. They were on very tight and took some pressure to release. Pull the wiper away from the windshield and stick a small drill bit in the small hole to hold the tension away from the windshield.

Good luck
Dave
