Won't Go Into Gear

I own a 2014 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 33AA (RED). After driving approximately 250 miles, I arrived at an overnight destination. I applied my parking brakes, placed the transmission into neutral and left my coach running while I registered for the night. Upon returning to my coach I released the parking brakes and attempted to place the coach into drive - the transmission would not go into any gear (D or R). Frustrated, I shut down the coach, waited several minutes and attempted a restart. The coach would not start. After checking everything on the coach I could think of, this took several minutes, I again attempted a restart. The coach started and continued to operate as new. Throughout this episode no warning lights nor any other indicators gave any indication of a system problem.
I have not experienced this problem since and I have traveled an additional 2K miles. Before taking my coach into Cummins for analysis I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem. If so, how was it resolved?

If your engine would not start then I would say you have an electrical problem. Maybe loose battery cable or bad connection somewhere.
If there is not enough power coming from the batteries the transmission will not go into gear. If you lose battery power while driving down the road it will default the transmission to neutral.

Would not crank or not fire?

No crank is interlock issue.

Sounds like transmission control is acting up as it would not shift from neutral and did not indicate in neutral to allow engine start.

Any lites on check engine etc?

Maybe a code reader could help.

No one here can answer with certainty, because they don't have all the facts. They can only speculate. Take the coach to Cummins, let them plug into the diagnostic port, and the coach will tell you itself just what's wrong and where the problem lies.

If the engine was left running, I doubt that Cummins will help much. I would look more to a transmission issue. Perhaps you had an overheating, or low fluid situation. I'm guessing you have an Allison transmission? If so give them a call. They might have some useful suggestions for you to start with.

Thanks for your advice. I will double check all my connections and let you know the results.
