That's my thoughts. With the engine off, look down the front primary throttle bores. Move the throttle back and forth and you should see a good squirt of fuel spraying into each bore on accel.

Even with a bad accelerator pump, he should be able to nurse it up above idle. How bad does the gas smell, it could your problem.

Bad circuit breaker or oil pressure switch.
Might even be a bad relay.
You need to bypass the oil pressure switch and trace the wiring out with a loading test light.
The fuel pump wiring diagram:

I've flushed the fuel system, has some particulates put nothing unusual for a older rig. The holly gets tons of fuel.

To top everything off. Last night someone tried to steal my generator. Sitting on the ground, guess they found out how heavy. Thanks for all the information

My first thoughts are to make sure we have fresh new fuel, not 5 year old fuel?
Carb rebuild - As others said - Is the accelerator pump working? Is the bowl level set correctly?
If you do a slow steady press of the gas pedal, will it rev up?
If not, using a can of starting fluid, will it rev up if you squirt starting fluid in it as you press the gas pedal?
If it revs ok, then you have a fuel problem. If it doesn't rev, you may have other issues.
Thinking out loud - If its standard distributor, what is the vacuum advance doing. Is timing so far off that the vacuum advance is pushing timing way out? (

Note that most of the fuel wiring is bypassed during the cranking of the engine so you will have fuel while cranking. Then when the engine starts it may lose the power to the fuel pump if you have a problem with the relay, switches and wiring or low oil pressure.

Thanks for all the information. The accelerate r pump works great. But it would help to have the pump cam linkage. I'll call it a brain fart

A twenty six year old rebuilt carb would be the first thing I'd replace
