Woo Hoo...Insurance renewal did not go up...

Just got my invoice from Blue Sky and it did not go up one dollar. Very good news, as I just found out I need to replace my front air bags.

That's good to know. Insurance is a significant cost item after you consider the actual RV purchase. I haven't ever thought about having to replace air bags. I'm glad you pointed that out. We currently have our insurance with Good Sam/National General. When its time to renew, I might get a quote from Blue Sky, too. Thanks!

With Blue Sky, they offer an amortization schedule of two, six or monthly payments. However, it comes at great extra cost. Just to go from one time payment to two payments for the full premium, it costs an extra $140.

If you want to pay in eleven payments, it's a silly extra $654.

I'm paying all at once, thank you very much...

About the air bags, I was informed I had a pinhole leak in the driver front early this year when we were on the road and my air governor failed. A very faint hiss could be heard. The other week, the you could easily hear a much more pronounced hissing and the front left side would dip noticeably when parked.

My mech advised replacing both fronts as a pair. They are $435 out the door from Freightliner and he's replacing them for me early next week. Wonder how long it's going to take him. He used to have his own shop and is charging me only $30 an hour...a smokin' bargain.

The bag may have suffered damage and not so much wear. I don't know.
