I am surprised at the number of people that prefer dark wood. The RVs we have been in that had dark wood made us feel like we were in a cave.
We had dark wood (walnut and ash - wainscoting and cabinets) in our stick house and loved it but the house was large enough to keep it from being oppressive.

Oh well, everybody to their own bad taste, that's what I always say sometimes.

Every coach we have purchased has had the light oak throughout. We have been looking at going from a "gasser" to a diesel, and have actually been more impressed with the darker wood in the dp's we have looked at. Ran across a Diplomat that has the lighter wood and for some reason, it just didn't feel right. Not sure what it was, maybe to bright.

Surprised myself thinking that way, as we have always had the light oak.

Whether dark wood makes a dark interior depends on how the rest of the decor is done. I'll admit the bedroom of our current rig is a bit too dark (medium cherry) - they actually went a bit overboard with the wood paneling/doors/cabinets etc. so there is practically nothing light colored left in that room. No problem in the living area and galley though.

Our previous coach (2002 Dolphin LX) was in dark walnut and it was light and airy throughout - a really excellent job of interior decor design.

Have the 'Sierra Maple' in this coach. It is light, about the color of natural maple. Don't care for the darker woods for the same reasons as noted above.

We like our natural maple wood also, for the same reasons. Our M/H is not that big, darker wood would make look even smaller. But our friends have a 40' Beaver, with rich dark paneling. In there, it looks good.

Most of the Manufacturers, think the dark wood makes the coach more elegant. I think its a matter of choice our Horizon had dark wood and we thought it was nice.
Now the Adventurer has the light Oak and we think it makes the coach more airey...Hey,,the manufacturers are hung up on the dark wood for Hi End coaches...but I think its whatever floats your boat....Aint it wonderful they all don't look alike...WHAT? Mohos of course
