Woodall's vs. Good Sam Directories

Somewhat new to RVing. We bought a Good Sam membership and Trailer Life Directory. Wondering if it's worth adding a Woodall's Directory to the collection? Can someone tell us if they are essentially redundant?... or different enough to warrant both? Thanks...

Both are owned by the same company.

I always preferred the trailer Life. I don't think there is a need to carry both. I worked for a motorhome co. and could get both for free, but I only carried the TL.

Hi 05monacoer,
There is some difference between the two directories. My brother owns a CG and places his adds in Woodall's because they are cheaper than TL. Is the difference worth the $s. Consider trying it for one year and you'll know if it is worth it to you.

When I first started RVing I bought everything I could find.
Pretty much word for word the same, tons of duplications, most are on the internet anyway.

There are some differences. We buy one ,one year and the other the next year and keep the two most recent one on board.

I'd say about 80-85% overlap between the two. Woodalls has lower ad rates, so they get more lower tier campgrounds than Trailer Life. The high priced resorts tend to be Trailer Life only, but that doesn't mean all of them. We use the TL CD and used to keep an older Woodalls on hand to. Now that I have easy internet access whenever needed, I just go online for Woodalls if I ever need to consult it.

I tossed them both. I open a Google map and in the search bar type: rv parks near austin, tx, for example, and there they are on the map. I just cross reference a park I'm interested in with this web site. Works like a charm.

I have the Trailer Life CD that I have on my Laptop. I rarely use the books anymore. It is all I need. I also bought all the books when we first hit the road but never really used them, I stay with the TL CD.
