No, especially if all they have driven is a car. It is best to stay friends than to have to go through anything that could happen which would put a great deal of stress on that relationship. It is not just the driving but all the things that go with a MH, dumping tanks, adding chem back in, gen operation many things that they would not be familiar with that could cause a problem.

These are just material possessions which can be fixed or replaced if something happens.

To each his own. You sound like a very generous person and I applaud that. I still would not lend mine, even to one of my very competent sons, not for any special reason, I just don't really see the point because I would share it with them so readily.

"Would you lend out your motor-home to friends for say 2 weeks for their holiday? I am talking about lending it out to friends - not close family like f.x. son or daughter."

This has to be the longest thread ever where the answer is a simple no.

I disagree, the reason there were so many posts is because many here have "strong opinions" on the topic of materilaism, and I for one, founds it quite intersting to read them all.
I would say I learned a thing or two also....

Yes. Please have your $250K deposit ready in cash and a pen to sign the 'doc is not responsible for anything' waiver. It will be full of fuel, chilled adult beverages in the frige and a new GPS to get you back home. Toad is extra. You want to pick it up when?

There must be something special about me.
I did lend the RV from my frend to drive around with (alone).
I did pay for the flat I got underway. (Glenallen).
I would gladly lend my RV to him - OR - my car and Caravan when he was overhere.
Apparently no one has a frend (or family) he/she can TRUST.
(Part of the trust is knowing what the "lender" can and does....)
But then again, anyone, see my previous post.....

There is a BIG difference between a $250,000 to $500.000, 40', 4 slide, diesel pusher and a class B or class C motorhome. I would be "more apt" to loan a van style class B than a diesel pusher. Although, many years ago when I was asked to loan my pickup and camper to some friends of a friend, I said " I'm sorry, but no...".
So, for those that would loan a rig, you should qualify just what type of rig it is that you would loan?

I sure will if he leaves me his twin hot looking daughters 21- 26 year old for 2 weeks so I will fly them to the Bahamas for sunbathing and lots of drinks..
I do own a PREVOST Marathon xl 45 so I can only expect fine toys and beautiful young ladies.

I would loan my mh to my oldest son who drives a big truck, and my granddaughter who pulls a 40 ft horse trailer. My other son and daughter I will loan it to them after giving some driving lessons. I would also loan it to my best friend who pulls a tt. I trust my kids with whatever I own. Material things just do not have the impotance to me that memories have. Its not my children and friend that I have to worry about, it the other drivers.
