No, No No, Never even ask to borrow anything of mine that drives. I won't borrow your vehicle and I won't lend you mine. I will drive you around the world and pick you back up every day, but don't even think about borrowing any of my vehicles. I will give it to you rather than lending it. Renting it out?? Not a chance!!

We actually had a guy we did not know ask if we would rent him our RV so he and his buddies could use it to go to NASCAR events. Oh sure! How about we not only fill it up with fuel but stock the fridge with beer

Oh yea, that brings up another point not only about lending money to a friend (end of friendship) Never rent an apartment to a relative or a Reverend., they will pray for you, they will thank you for being so wonderful and understanding, but they will NEVER pay you your rent.

I would (and do) lend my cars, including my 1960 Corvette, to family and friends. They are just automobiles and my family and friends all drive cars. They have auto insurance and so do I. I will not loan my MH to anyone! If you don't own a RV you just don't know what all is involved. Driving a MH and learning how to properly operate all of the "gadgets" takes time.

P.S. My son-in-law would be an exception. He served in Desert Storm in a Marine tank unit. If I trust him with my freedom, I trust him with my RV.

Henrick, there are very few people that I would trust that have the experience to properly handle and RV similar to mine or yours.

Honestly, the suggestion that they provide a contract with a deposit plus additional insurance is one way to handle it. Too many people think that driving a large motor home is like driving a car or pulling a large trailer is about like pulling a boat.

Remember how you felt the first time you drive a large motorhome and how it was the first trip with the set up and take down.

If you want to let someone borrow it, I'd be more than happy to exercise the beast.

Ken

we would NOT; and NEVER!

and it is not being "mean"; it is being realistic:
- insurance
- risk
- end of friendship
the list goes on

regards, pdq
