Hi LoveOurRV, small world, I live in Cobb County also. Close to Macland Rd and Powder Springs Rd (West Cobb). I have a 2004 Monaco Signature. I downloaded the Georgia State Tax instructions on Ad Valorum tax and according to that they are computing the tax incorrectly so I am going to go and ask them to recompute it. Not sure that it will change anything but it is worth a try. According to the instructions if you bought the MH new when you register it then it should be computed on the retail value and depreciated with their chart. If one bought it used then it should be based on the price you paid for it and depreciated from that. They based mine on a estimated new value that was actually $150K more than the window sticker. I have several window stickers of my year and model to show them if they want to do it that way or I have the receipt for what I paid for it if they want to do it the correct way. If you email me at mike.c@mindspring.com I can send you the State .pdf Ad Valorum tax instructions. I know that this Ad Valorem tax issue just went up for a vote for reducing it but I do not know the results.

Well here is good news for all the RVers that live in Georgia.

The Georgis House Bill HB1055 on reducing Ad Valorem tax did pass. The state millage rate drops .05 mils per year beginning January 2012. Beginning in January 2016 the state millage rate will be ZERO and no more Ad Valorem Tax.

Wow, so now I can use that $3500 a year tax money for a fill up of diesel fuel

I think I paid $120. There is sales tax to buy, but no property tax in Texas.

In 2000, our 1998 Santara 35' gasser was about $2,400 for one year in WA. Then a referendum passed and our 2000 Dutch Star DP was only about $40. But the state made a bunch on the sales tax on the new DSDP. Right now our 2002 DSDP is about $130 as they added a weight tax back on that bypassed the referendum mandates.

$994.00 in CA for an 04 Journey, purchased last year. Are you guys in AZ paying on relatively new coaches? I didn't realize AZ was outdoing CA.
