I just wanted to make everyone aware that Wyoming State Park rules mandate that when camping with a Class A (or presumably a Class C) AND you have a tow vehicle you must pay the camping fee ($17.00 for 50A service plus water, 22 psi) for BOTH the RV and the tow. So the fee is really $34.00 per night plus reservation fee.

My husband made our week long reservation for Curt Gowdy State Park in Cheyenne, WY on line ($8.00 reservation fee, $10.00 fee if you reserve by phone). There was no indication that we would have to pay any additional fee for our tow vehicle. When we arrived at the campground, we were told that we had to pay the $17.00 camping fee for EACH vehicle since either could be driven in and out of the campground. I confirmed this information the following day by calling the State Park Headquarters Office.

There are NO refunds for cancellation after 48 hours PRIOR to arrival.

Needless to say ... had WE known ahead of time, WE would NOT have stayed here and will NOT stay at a Wyoming State Park again.

I just found out that Colorado has a similar policy. Their camping fee does not include a mandatory day use fee of $7.00 to $9.00 per day, per vehicle.

So if you plan to camp in a Colorado State Park with your Class A and tow vehicle add $14.00 to $18.00 per day to your camping fee!

That is just plain [ Moderator Edit ] !!!! We are traveling out through both Wyoming and Colorado next Spring. Guess where we will NOT be staying.

Add us to the list of the state parks in those (2) states if that is the case.

Well I wonder if they will charge for my 5er and then again for the truck towing it?

This is funny . . .

When I collected data on all our state parks earlier this year, the Wyoming state parks ranked dead last.

Probably not since the 5th wheel can't be driven in and out of the park like a towed vehicle can.

I camped at Lake Livingston State Park in Texas in May of this year. Class A with toad. Was not charged for toad.

Some states toll booths will charge for not only the axles on the RV but also the trailer and then also charge for the axles of what is ON the trailer.

Often the fees for toads are waved if you purchase an annual state pass.

This is why we don't do state parks - they have gotten to be too expensive. With Senior Pass, Army Corps of Engineers parks whenever we can find them.

We are voluteering at Steamboat Lake State Park, Colorado. You can be given a towed pass that will allow you to drive your towed in and out with no charge.

Our experience with Colorado was we had to pay for the toad and the motor home. We saved a couple of bucks by buying an annual pass and giving it to my son-in-law when we left.

Minnesota State Parks also charge extra for a toad.....but only if you want to use it, (in the park or out of the park).

Most Texas State Parks charge "a per day per person fee" for the day you arrive, the days you stay AND and the day you leave!
Stay one night, pay for one nights camping and 2 daily "user fees" per person....(stay a week and pay for 7 nights of camping and 8 "user fees" per person).
