Xantrex inverter remote switch not working

My DP has a Xantrex RC-6 remote switch. Everything seems to be lit up and working except that I can't turn the inverter off. The switch beeps when I press it but no function. I turned it off manually in the bay...where do I start looking for the problem?
Thanks!

I have a little different system but try to see if this corrects the problem.

I believe the cord that connects your remote to the inverter is a phone style plug. either take the remote off the wall and unplug it for 30 seconds or so and plug it back it or do the same thing where it is plugged into the inverter.

It's worth a try anyway.

There may also be the possibility that the inverter is working as designed when it senses shore power. Recommend a close read of the manual along with some time on the Xantrex website. Let us know what results ... we all learn ...

I have a similar issue with my panel, sometimes it works. That phone cord is not the same phone cord you can buy at the store ...it is like a 6 pin w no crossovers. Straight pin to pin. The phone cord is almost always 4 wire. Check the connections on the cord and where you plug it to.

Leave the switch in the bay off, then go back and try the remote to see if it will work.

I had problems with my Xantrex inverter acting up. The problem was the little wire contacts in the crappy phone jacks. I tied the male and female parts together such that the contacts be held together. No problems since.
