Xantrex RC/GS / inverter disconnect

Hey all,

I've gleaned much from the forums but this is my first post.

So when I purchased my RV, everything seemed to function properly. However, now if I'm NOT connected to shore power or if I'm NOT running my generator, I'm not getting power to my residential fridge. What I used to see on the control panel was a green LED for "inverter," a yellow LED for "Charge" and an LED for "Batt Full." Now all I get is the yellow LED for "Charge." I also do not have a LED light on the inverter (in the basement) when in the off position and the fridge is NOT getting power (in the past there was a green light when the inverter on/off switch was set to off. NOTE: If I turn the inverter on (in the basement) I get a green light at the inverter, I can hear a buzzing sound and the fridge does get power.

Full disclosure here...I found the Xantrex manual and started playing with the auto settings. The system worked fine and the generator came on when the battery level dipped below the preset power selection (just like it's supposed to).

I have checked the circuit breakers and they're all on (I still turned them off and reset them to the on positions).

I have set everything back to the default settings.

I have read and re-read the Xantrex manual as well as several posts here in the forums and still cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

All that to say I need some help getting this thing back on track as we're getting ready to leave for a full year and a fridge would be nice!

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided to help this newbie RVer,
Stang

Try turning the inverter off in the basement, and pushing the invert button in the coach.

First, turn off the inverter in the basement. Then turn it on using the control panel above the driver's seat.

Here is what you should have for settings:
Set idle: defeat
Batt Capacity: auto
Battery type: (mine are flooded lead)
Charge Rate: 100% of max
Shore Power: 30A or more
Remote Setup: last key
LCD Contrast: your preference
Generator Start: Auto @ 12.2 volts (50% capacity)
Generator Stop: auto @ absorb
Gen Start/Stop: Therm Enabled
Begin Gen Quiet: 0:00
End Gen Quiet: 0:00
Select Genset: Onan Quiet Diesel
Set Clk: Set the right time - must be set to work correctly.

These are the basic Full Auto Start/Stop settings.

If you still cannot get things going: there is a reset to try on the inverter. Look for cables that look like a telephone cable. Unplug for 5 seconds and replug it in.

Note that if you turn on the inverter in the basement, then it disables the remote panel above the driver. To use the panel, inverter in basement should be turned off first. Mine is the same coach as yours so hopefully this helps you.

The Xantrex has two elements: one is a charger and the other is the inverter. What you are seeing on the panel is the charger continues to work but the panel control of the inverter is off when the inverter is turned on in the bay.

I appreciate the quick replies. I'll check my settings again/readjust and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again,

Melmoses,

That seemed to do the trick...it was the phone cables that reset my system.

Thanks again!
