Yearly tab fees?

Does anybody know how Washington state determines the cost of tabs for a motorhome and how I would be able to figure it out?

There's a web site for that ... .

WA State Licensing (DOL) Official Site: Renewal and registration fee information

Looks like there are lots of factors that come into play ... so you'll have to examine their "fee calculator" and see what it works out to for your specifics.

Hope you fare better than I did in Michigan. Renewed my license plate tabs in September for my first "full year" (bought the coach in March) ... $986 for my license "tabs".

Good luck!

You can usually go on line to the states agency that issues license plates. Dept of DMV, secretary of state, etc. and find out. Some states do it by weight, some by value, some have a flat rate. In Michigan it's a rip-off. Over $600 for mine. Some states as little as $35.00.

Welcome to the greatest forum on the web!

Make a call to the Auditor of your county.
If it is the first time you are registering it, you will pay sales or use tax ~8.3% varies by county. Plus licence, weight fees and some other stuff. My 39' Horizon costs $116.75 in WA.

Yeah, what he said. I'm a little over $100 a year also.

The main point here is there is no value or excise tax. With that out of the picture, I'd think "something over $100~$120" should be close enough.

After the initial year they will charge, a filing fee, a service fee, a vehicle weight fee, and a category called other. All those added together equals $116.75 on mine.

In around 1999 we paid $2200 a year for tabs on our '98 35' gas Santara. Then there was an initiative passed the the tabs went down to less than $50 a year. That change prompted us to upgrade to the 2000 DSDP. Our present Magna costs us about $175 a year although the over $23,000 sales/use tax kind of made up for it!

Geez, and I felt bad when they increased my fee from ~$50 a year to $75 a year. Big increase but insignificant compared to what others pay, I guess I'll stay in TN
