Yokohama vs Goodyear tires

Have 45' Marquis running Goodyear G670RV/295/80R/22.5 Looking at Yokohama same size
All 8 tires. Will be replaced. Need to know if this would be a good was to go as the price is better than the Goodyear. Thank for any help. hdskooter

The GYs are RV tires, what are the Yokohamas, RV or truck tires?

The Goodyears have a UV inhibitor in the rubber compound,
and thus they tolerate the effects of the sun better than
most other tires. I don't know if the Yokohamas have
the same compounding. Since most RV tires age out
rather than wear out, it could make a difference.

I think the Yokos are every bit as good as the GY G670 RV tire. All but the cheapest tires these days have plenty of UV protectant in the rubber and I doubt if you would see any difference.

I'm using Continentals in place of my previous GY 295/80's. Substantially less money and an excellent tire. Have been running them for two years now.

I replaced the g670 on my Monaco with the Yok's and have never looked back great tire great price no rivering!

Truck tire vs rv tire is really no issue, unless you're insisting on a tire that's says RV. UV protection is really a function of how you take care of your tires, (IE) cover them up as much as possible when parked in direct sunlight. Yok's are an excellent tire used for both RV and over the road trucks. Have been for years. Just be sure to not use the drive tire tread pattern, steer tire pattern only on the RV. Truck drive tire pattern will be very noisy.

Yokohama on my rig. Great tire. Rv tire is load range H, 14 ply. Truck tires are Load range J and up, 16 +. The price on goodyears and Michelin's is just stupid. I replaced goodyears.

Yokohamas are on my rig too!
58,000 miles and 4 years time.
No rivering and excellent wearing.

So i guess the real question should be Yok's or Hankook, hear good things about both tires.

I've used both brands, and with millions of miles over the road, I can honestly say they are both equal in quality and endurance. Bottom line as far as I would be concerned is price, and what tire shop will give me the best service. You can't go wrong with either brand.

if your rig is 18 ton or more I had to go to 22.5 Michel on amer tradition to get handling 7300 for all

The Mic is a great tire, I love the softer ride they seem to give. But I'm not sure if you're paying for the name and not a better tire when you are looking for truck or RV tires. Softer compounds ride and hold the road very well. But I've not owned a set long enough to see how long they last compared to the YOK's and Hankooks. I do use Mic's exclusively on my motorcycle, an HD FLHX. I don't mind if they wear out faster on that, as long as they provide the grip and handling I'm looking for.

For a great tire with no problems or controversy , I prefer Yokohama's. I have had Michlelins and I don't need their issues with checking sidewalls.
