Would you buy another Coachman? Has factory support been top notch? After 18 months our Newmar has been great. Would I buy another Newmar? This is my second one. Is it a flagship coach coach? Don't know and don't care. After 4 coaches this the best we have owned.

In full disclosure Sam and I are friends as he’s one of the fine folks I reached out too in the Newmar community for questions and help. From that communication we’ve talked and have kept in touch. That’s also true of others here on the forum, although none would admit to it and all would flatly deny it! But I must admit that Sam does still talk to me even after I didn’t buy a Newmar. Although I do hear his wife Toby yelling in the background “why are you talking to that animal”? I’m sure she’s referencing my dog! Oh, thats right, I don’t have a dog!

Sam, as much as I hate saying it on an open forum, you’re right! Owning it a few months and having it for 18 months is what will truly tell the tale!

I tried from my original post to this one to ask if the Coachmen 400 series of Sports Coach, being their top of the line coach, has any benefit to the buyer (being a top of the line)? I was not asking for comparisons between coach builders. Although I do agree it could be interpreted that’s what I was asking, and thats my fault for being a poor communicator! My grandkids will clearly admit I’m “A Crazy Person”!

What I will say if you’re looking for a coach and especially if it’s your first coach?
• Do ask the question “diesel vs gasser”?
• Do ask the question “floor plan vs floor plan”?
• Do ask the question “brand vs brand”?
• And yes, Do ask the question “Montana LLC vs non LLC?

In other words, don’t hesitate to ask your questions especially if its a stupid one! We all love to tell you “hey, that was really stupid”!

You’ll get many answers and they’re all worthwhile but I have for you the tip of all tips... Yes sir, the number 1 tip and climbing higher all the time! When you think you like a specific coach look here on the forum in the “Class A motorhome” area where we are now. Go to the “The Owners Corner Forums” towards the bottom of the forum website. There you will find the coach builder and can reference to their specific coaches. And many coach builder have their own forums and don’t forget those as well!

SPECIAL NOTE: “””Look for those good folks who show their coach information on their posts”””!

Now for the tip... Find someone who has your coach of interest (make, model, year and floor plan) and send them a PM (Private Message). Ask them your questions? They drive the coach and who knows better than they do from first hand experience? I’ve never had anyone not answer my PM or be anything but helpful! Some you get to like so much you feel bad when you decide on a different coach! Some you even become friends of like Sam and Toby! Sorry Sam, but come on, you know you like me, I mean who couldn’t? I know, I know, you could publish a list! Wow this is really a tough crowd!

Seriously though, send a Private Message, you’ll learn a lot and sometimes it helps having it unfiltered from the general forum!

If any of my advice is worth having, I promise this one is the best!

Harry

PS. Hey Dutch Star Dave, the CCC is 5,200 pounds.

Harry

I am still proud to call you my friend. The many hours we have spent talking everything from brands to gas vs diesel. Hopefully I have passed on to you a few things learned from having had 4 coaches and many of my mistakes. Looking forward to getting together this spring.

See I told you Sam likes me, "hey Milkey"! That was from a cereal commercial right?

Sam's council has been beyond tremendous and allowed us to become friends. It's why I said "Now for the Tip" above! The information you get and how you get to know folks is invaluable!

Don't hesitate to reach out, it may just enrich your life as it has mine! See you in the spring Sam! And Toby did mean my dog right?

Tobe has offered a lot of advice on many of your questions and took many pictures for you. She is the main driver and gets along well with truck drivers but remember it's Tobe with an e not a y.
