Zone heating & AC in my Bounder

My (new) 2005 Bounder has a thermostat that uses 2 zones, each zone independently adjustable for temp and gas/heat pump. I can find no documentation on how it works.

I don't see how it could possibly control two separate zones independently aside from the front and back AC, and I believe (but not sure) only the front unit works as a heat pump. We have only one gas furnace, and I'd be surprised to learn it had any dynamic control over how much heat it sends to the back vs the front.

Also, there are two little white plastic discs with holes in them on the wall, one behind the dinette and one in the bedroom. Are these the temperature sensors?

Can anyone shed some light on this system?

Charlie

Mine has one thermostat that you select the zone from, and set the temperature for that selected zone.

The little disk you see on the wall is most likely the temperature sensors for the area designated as that zone they are mounted in.

Heat pump in the front is new to me, as mine is in the rear, bed room only.

These systems never really send heat or cool air evenly throughout the coach.

If you have the Dometic Duo Therm 4 bottom control go to this link to download the manual and troubleshooting guide. Just know that the micro switches for the buttons over time get dirty and gummed up making it difficult to switch zones. I finally got tired of cleaning and messing with mine and upgraded to the 5 button control. You can buy refurbished 4 button controls on ebay.
