How do you know that you did?

What standards did you use for determining that?

A lot of people think they can get 20 percent or more off of the MSRP on a brand new coach? Maybe they can?

I think there's more markup on the Class A's and Class C's because there's so many of them on the market for sale.

Class B's are the smallest segment of the RV market and being a niche product their prices tend to be higher and hold values better as used vehicles.

So, how did you do it? Finally, is it safer to purchase a used unit from a dealership who specializes in selling RV'S or a private party? At least with a dealership who has a reputation to protect, it's less likely that they want to damage this by not selling you a broken vehicle 😠.

It's fun to research when you're not quite ready to pull the trigger. I do however think you're putting a little to much into this. It's not rocket science. After you set you budget get the best coach you can based on budget, etc.
You already answered most of your questions.

I will say I'm not sure there's enough of a connection between salesmen, managers and owners. The salesman doesn't know as much as many buyers and will say just about anything to sell the rig.
If someone owns a lemon I think it's much more likely to be traded in than sold by the owner.

Determining the price of a used RV for sale is really difficult, since the moment you try and sell it people are feeding like vultures....

There's gotta be a better way to figure that out.

I've used 30% off MSRP when looking at new, and go from there. But I just bought a barely used (5k miles) one year old Class B with Li3 system for under six figures. MSRP was $176k. That's 57% for a year old vehicle, based on original MSRP. Not necessarily a screaming good deal, but I'm happy with it.

Of course it's close to the prices on rvtrader. I didn't mean to suggest otherwise.

You've been given a real life example from Kanz and if you compare to rvtrader it falls right in the ballpark.

Typically they all fall into this; 25% off MSRP than 5-6% depreciation per year. A little more at first but it averages out to 5-6 after about 10 years.

To me a 'fair price' is a price I'm willing to pay for the item I'm buying. If I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of, then it's a fair price. My idea of a fair price could be higher or lower than someone else's. Personally I don't worry about what other people are paying, though it is good to know for comparison's sake. And if you look long enough then there is ALWAYS a better deal down the road. But if you keep waiting for the better deal then you never get to go down the road in your new RV.

And that right there is precisely why I stopped looking the instant I made the deal. I've turned my limited gray matter toward enjoying what I have, not thinking about what could have been.

I got 27.5 off MSRP but had to travel 450 miles to pick up. It was worth it. These class B’s aren’t easy to find. One local dealer had the Travato and only offered 18 off.
