Exterior storage option

Hello all,

We found the Era 70x storage space a little too small and began to look at outside storage options. I found this trailer hitch cargo carrier on sale for a really low price. It fit well and was capable of holding 500 pounds.

I bought two plastic storage boxes. One large and one smaller.(2 large boxes would not fit) Both can be padlocked.

The boxes were then bolted to the bottom tubes of the carrier, with metal brackets as support. A plastic covered cable was run over the tops of the boxes and attached to the top tube of the carrier. The cable is secured with a padlock.

The cables offer a small measure of protection against theft, and keep the boxes held down to combat excess vibration.

The large box holds our new barbecue grill, and the smaller box holds hoses, power cord etc. Just the stuff that is too large and bulky for inside the RV.

I am sure many of you have done this already. It is just something I came up with and put together.

Regards, cowboy70

It looks like a good solution. My son in law did something similar on their SUV.

Do you happen to know the brand or model number?

Carrier brand

The brand is "Haul Master" (see pic) I got it at a Harbor Freight store. Also saw them at a Menards store.
