Smile Hot spots (phone service that is)

I was needing to get a hotspot system other than my phone to hook up other devices. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what was working for them. You help would be appreciated for a non techie person.

Verizon jetpack has worked for us. They seems to have a larger coverage area than ATT.

Hello fpar5578 - This really depends on how much you are going to use it and where. Yes, Verizon is the best in coverage, but also the most expensive of the bunch. AT&T is also good (right behind Verizon(, but second most expensive. In my case, where the RV park's WiFi was poor, I used Straight Talk, which is a pay-as-you go (i.e. no contract). The Wifi puck was cheap - $49. It worked fine for me for what I needed it for (now and then). You may want to look into T-Mobile. Although the coverage is not as good as the leading guys - Verizon and AT&T, they have an aggressive/competitive price structure. I would talk and "not sign up" with the major carriers to see what fits best for you.

X2. You can pay for different levels of data. It's still kinda pricey, but works very well. The only time we couldn't get access was a little town in rural Idaho.

What is wrong with using the phone as hot spot. Do you really need another device? We had both Verizon mifi and iphone6. Realized that they overlapped. Eliminated jet pack and just use phone for hot spot. I believe up to 5 connections can be made.

Verizon Jetpack here. One with external antenna jack can be good. Verizon has the best coverage.
