We use a small velcro strip and wrap it between the 2 handles of the cabinet when going down the road. Works like a charm and didn't need to "deface" the doors in any way.

No defacing - "latches" on the inside, same as the other cabinet doors - maybe I should have said "catches" or some other term....but we did the same with those "baby" locks at first.
