Need help from someone that owns an ERA 70C

I've seen this question asked many times, but cannot locate a clear answer...

Can someone with an ERA 70C please tell me if the bed can be partially deployed without extending the slider?

I understand that it cannot be completely opened to its full extent, but can the fold out part from the seat cushions be folded out with the slider in, or will it hit the sliding door?

I'm really hoping it's possible to catch a couple hours of sleep if need be without having to resort to lying on the floor if I'm someplace that I cannot open the slider.
(like at work after a 16 hour shift, before I try to drive home too tired to see straight)
For sure, the couch looks to be way too small in “Couch Mode”, but I’m hoping it might be big enough in partial open bed mode.

No! the slide MUST be out at least a foot to open the bed.

While I am almost totally sold on the Era 70C this one issue has me continuing to keep my options open. I just love the thought of the dry bath though!

Same here.
This is *almost* the perfect RV for me.
I really like the Hydronic (silent) heating, the on-demand Hot Water, the huge (for a B) Fresh/Gray/Black Tanks, the Dry Bath, the lack of Over-the-Top Graphics.
They nailed it for me except for the bed.
I'd be fine even if it could only be folded out halfway with the slide closed.
That would still work for a quick roadside nap.

I'm hoping the 2016 will either come up with a way for the bed to be usable in slider retracted mode, or at least add most/all of these features to the 70A

Ours is sitting in the driveway with the slide deployed. Yes, you couldn't fit it in a parking spot and put the slide out, and you can't put the bed out rolling down the road (obviously), but other than that, I'm not what the issue would be. In most roadside parking areas and rest stops you could park on the truck side or out at the curb and put the slide out no sweat. And certainly in most big parking lots.

We intend to travel a lot in this unit, so it will be interesting to see if my assumptions prove out, but so far so good.
