Onan Microlite genney won't stay running...

Hi,

I've had a recent issue with my Onan 2800 Microlite gas generator. Sometimes, the remote genny switch doesn't light up after the genny starts, and I have to hold in the button. Oil level is good and gas tank is above over 1/2 tank. This has happened twice so far this year. I found that when the issue occurs, if I press the start button on the genny (underneath the rig in the back) it starts properly each time. Seems to be an issue with just the remote start switch.

Anyone ever have an issue where the generator won't keep running after it starts from the remote switch?

Thnx!

Larry

The remote switch can cause several different problems. Here is a troubleshooting chart for the 4ky model Onan's to give you some ideas. I would tend to want to reseat the the remote connector inside of the genset and also the spade type connectors on the back of the remote switch.

Also, you can find your manuals here if you don't have them;
