I may be missing something and I will take a closer look when I unbolt the fuse box lid. Appears the hot side of the cable is just attached to a mount that is attached to the fuse box, and then that cable goes to the battery. Don't think the cable is going to anything inside the fuse box. If it does, I'll do what you did. That cable mount has a tab on it that is used for a jump start (but we have a battery boost), doubt if they would have that connected to anything in the fuse box that would compromise a fuse or relay.
