Rear Camera Location

I have a 2011 Pleasure Way and pull a boat. I intend to install a backup camera to help when backing down the ramps as well as backing out of parking lots when necessary. What is the best location to install the camera?

I'd think you'd want it high enough to see over the boat. Perhaps at the RV's roof line?

I agree, I'd try to get it as high as possible.

I installed a Backup Camera on my Pleasure Way Excel TS. I mounted it right below the clearance light and you can access that area inside upper rear cabinet. I bought a " wireless" unit and it works well but after accessing the correct wire in the Transmission loom to hook up correctly it really wasn't needed. The monitor clips on your Rearview mirror and is a mirror until you shift into reverse. I bought mine online from TadiBrothers.com

The best location for mounting a camera is high on the rear (like others suggested). Mercedes OEM camera is mounted just above the third brake light on Sprinter vans.
There are also camera/third brake light combination units that RV manufacturers use on the Sprinter van that provide a great picture and clean look (like attached).
