Travato Spare Tire

Has anyone gotten a spare tire and if so how did you mount it? I've been doing some research on this and I am thinking of getting a spare and laying it flat on the floor. Yes there is room as I have a 2014.

I don't want to be in the middle of Nevada and wait a day for a new tire if it's needed. I checked with 3 major tire dealers in my area and they all said they would have to order my size and would take a day.

Spare Tire

You can get a spare tire holder at etrailer and stick it in the rear receiver like I did. But you will have to remove it to open the doors. I had my spare laying on the floor at first, and it took up a lot of room. Another option is the sprinter store is saying they will be manufacturing front receivers for the promaster chassis this spring and then you will be able to mount your spare up front. I am planning on that. Maybe if enough of us show interest they will move up the production dates.
