Van camper bed comfort

Greetings,

My wife and I are continuing our discussion on moving from our class A to a smaller B. Up next has been how comfortable are the beds? We are looking at models that have the twin or couch conversions as we want to use the van for day trips with grandkids.

So, any advise and or comments would be appreciated. Are plans are that we would use the van on numerous 2-3 night trips and a few 5-10 day trips each year. We are open to stopping at a hotel occasionally to break up the longer trips.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Just a suggestion: My wife bought a 3" thick memory foam mattress to add to our queen bed and it is incredibly comfortable. They make them in all mattress sizes. She spent about $100.00 on ours. Smaller sizes can be stored under the couch or table bench seats.

We use high density "egg crarte" foam. I like it better than the high dollar temperpedic mattress we have at home!

We have a 2016 Pleasure Way Ascent. It came with 5 inch memory foam and it's as comfortable (if not more) than our bed at home without anything added on top of it. The only consideration is size.... the full bed, with the couch laid down and the ottoman backrests filling in between the ottomans, is 70X72 inches. So, if you're taller than that, you're gonna be hanging over the edge. We prefer not to fill in the space with the backrests so it's easier to get up off the bed. Pleasure Way also has several other B vans on the Sprinter chassis that are just longer than the Ascent if you're looking for a bit more room overall.... including a bigger/longer bed. At pleasureway.com, you will find several walk-through videos of their B vans.

Have fun with your selection!
