What to get rid of CRT Overhead TV, What to do with Hole?

I just bought a Leisure Travel Class B . It has an old CRT TV located overhead (in the nose cone of the roof), as well as a separate VHS video casette player. I want to get rid of these items.

I was even thinking maybe I could somehow add a cabinet door and a flat screen LED TV, so I could still access the space behind the TV.

Has anyone done this, and what did you use the space for?

Any photos of your project would be great to give me some ideas!

I haven't done the front yet but for the bedroom I pulled the crt out, put a 2x4 brace and flat screen tv mount that pulls out. This allows access to the space behind the tv where I store DVD's and miscellaneous items.
Sorry, no pictures...

I have a 99 Leisure Travel and replaced the front TV and the "Head Knocker" housing. It was a little bit of a project. I bought a flat panel from Ebay that was a great fit. I installed a 22" flat panel in the back on an arm also. Since installing the rear TV I have not used the front one more than a dozen times. I do like it when the wife is still sleeping in the back. Here is a link to more info about this and other projects. Just search for slipbobber.

Here are some pics also.Using the Class B year-around • Class B RV and Camper Van Discussion Forum

I removed the old CRT unit, rebuilt the old cabinet to better fit the new LED TV, and am in the process of carpeting the interior of the cabinet for storage. Finished cutting out the fiberboard lining and next is the carpeting. Have other stuff going on and the TV is usable without finishing the interior so it's a little lower on the "to do list" than some other projects.

Welcome to the Forum!
You can do a search for TV replacement and come up with many threads- but I thought I would give you one of them that has lots of links .

Good luck with your new to you Leisure Travel.

Friend of mine removed the CRT TV, cut a piece of wood the size of the opening, piano hinged at the top, LCD TV attached to the wood. Lift up to store stuff inside.
