Question Where Do I Light The Fridge To Run On Propane ?

My RV (see signature) did not come with a manual. I cannot figure out where you ignite the flame to run the fridge on propane.

Here is the rear of the fridge.

Thanks,

Most will have an electronic igniter, turn the control to 'LP' and it's automatic. Older refers may have a piezoelectric spark that you activate by pushing a button on the front while holding down another button for the gas valve.

I had not thought about it being automatic once turning to LP. My last RV was a 1976. I guess I am in a better world with a 1990. ( )

I will see if it does start automatically today. Thanks!

If it is automatic you should hear a clicking sound after switching it to 'LP' as the igniter produces repetitive sparking. It'll stop clicking when the gas ignites or after timing out in the event of a failure to ignite the gas.

Send a message via Yahoo to Rick Long
Light your stove first to get gas flowing or the fridge may time out from lack of gas.

Thanks,

UPDATE: I did find the manual online for this and you do light it in the compartment shown. It is not automatic as you do have to press a couple of buttons. Thanks for everyones input.

I am still trying to figure out how to get the pilot light to the furnace working but I will figure it out. (Hopefully)

What do you know, it worked after turning my hot water system on. I just happened to read this about someone elses RV in the Newmar forum and thought I would try it.

I would have never had thought to turn on the hot water system.
