I'm trying to find the correct coolant for my 2002 ISB 5.9, Lots of confusion on this subject.

Your ISB does not require a coolant with SCA's. Any HD antifreeze that meets the Cummins spec. # listed in your Cummins owner manual is fine. If you want to change the AF there are many choices. Somewhere on this web site there is an article on AF. You will also find info on the Freightliner Club web site. You are right . It is very confusing.

The ISB as used in the 2002 Dodge pickups uses a low silicate ethylene glycol coolant as the factory fill. Being a parent bore engine (i.e., no wet cylinder liners), no cavitation inhibitor is required since the ISB isn't prone to cavitation.

Yes: The Onan also does not use any SCA's.
