This may well be old news to most but I learned something las week and thought I'd share.

We were in the middle of the Northern Calif storms for two weeks last month and it was quite a ride. After driving from Sacramento to Chico (100 miles) we set up for a few days. When we prepared to once again travel, I got a warning light for the ABS system which wouldn't go out.

After reading in the manual that dirt and rain from the road can coat the ABS sensors and prevent them from doing their job I just drove a loop aroung the CG and the light cleared. I guess I'll have to do a good washing of the under carraige when I get to Phoenix this weekend.

This is a safety issue in that you won't have ABS capability if the light is on... but you will still have normal non-ABS braking capability so I guess the decision to drive in that condition is a personal one.

Sometimes surface rust on rotors can cause that problems on some chassis. A trip around the block may clear it up like in your case.
