My new 2006 Journey has Accuride polished aluminum wheels all around. I would like to know if anyone has the new Alcoa wheels with the clear finish and do you like them? I like my wheels but hate polishing. Also any ideas on what the best polish cleaner there is to use on these wheels.

"Mothers" aluminum polish is the best I know of.Whats easier is when I have the coach washed I pay additional $10 a wheel for polishing.

Sammie, Ed has it right with Mother's they make a cream for hand polishing spots and a liquid for power polishing with a buffer on a drill motor. They also sell a couple of different size wheel buffers. Accuride sells 2 versions of their wheel one is coated and ours are not you can tell by looking at stamped 3 letters on the wheel starts with A and if ends with C it is coated. This is the first uncoated alloy "Raw Aluminum" wheel I have ever owned will not ever happen again since it will spot/scratch way to easily.

If you have clear coated wheels, be sure the product you use is appropriate for the clear coat.
Don't use anything with abrasives.

We have the Accushield rims, which are clear coated. We like them very much. The big thing is not to use abrasives on them. Just wash them with soap and water or else you'll scartch the clear coat and lose the gloss. treat them just like your painted finish and you'll be fine. I've never had the need to use anything serious on them to clean them because the dirt never really sticks to them.

Sammie:
If your wheels are not coated, I can highly recommend Magic Mix system. Truckers use it.
It is a two part system....a weak acid wash and a liquid polish. The stuff really works! I use the wash twice annually which dulls the wheel but makes it really shine with the polish. I can do each wheel in about 10 minutes and the shine lasts pretty good.
You can get the stuff at Flying J and RV upgrades sells it.
