I have 2004 MH on a FL chassis and am approaching the filter change but can't see any kind of tag on it to tell what brand or make it is in order to obtain the correct filter replacement. It has to be taken apart to reach the replacement filter and desicant. Any ideas where to look or what I may have? Thanks.

With the last 6 digits of your chassis serial number, you can contact either Freightliner Custom Chassis in Gaffney, SC or your local Freightliner service center and they can tell you a specfic part number and price. With that part number, you should be able to explore other sources. They will cross-reference the Freightliner partnumber with their own.

Another alternative is to sign up for Access Freightliner. It is the same information that the Freightliner deals get regarding parts but you only get access to your specific serial number information. WWW.Accessfreightliner.com has a signup form. You must be the owner of record in Freightliner's records to be granted access for your chassis serial. I had to provide them with my bill of sale in order to establish my relationship.

Wagonmaster:

I went to my local Freightliner Truck Center parts dept., gave them the last 6 digits of my chassis serial #, and they identified the filter part #. Mine has a Farr-Eco filter. FYI, I got the best price for the filter at the Freightliner dealer...better than NAPA and others in my area. I have found the Freightliner parts prices consistently lower in my area.

Thanks for all the information. My question may not have been exactly clear. I know my engine air filter is a Farr-Eco but I was wanting to know what make or brand my air system filter for the air brakes and air bags is. Thanks again.

Wagonmaster: You can download the Freightliner Pub "Know your chassis" here.
Know Your Chassis
It has info on most of the chassis service and the parts required.
Freightliner can identify your Air dryer. It is probably made by Haldex/Midland. You can download instructions and bulletins here.
Haldex Changing the filter and dessicant is not hard, but be sure to bleed ALL air pressure off the system before you begin...
Hope this helps
