I think you should take it to another shop for a second opinion. Ask the shop to inspect you BALL joints.

Not sure what chassis you have, but there are 8 Bushings on the upper/lower control arms if IFS, and 4 ball joints....I'd take it to a reputable shop and find out for sure (if anything) is needed and have them Show You.

my bet the STEPS are making the noise......
try isolating them with foam window a/c foam pads for a trial to stop the noise and then go for a ride
my folks bounder was making a racket and i traced it to the steps, then put some thicker foam in the wiggle spots.

Sitting one morning talking with a fellow camper, he complained about the same type of rattle under the front of his coach. I slid under there with a flashlight. Found a metal cookie tin that he had 'stashed' up behind the generator. It had a lot more than eight in it. And yes, he was bald.

My opinion is that it would be pretty rare for all the ball joints to need replacing. Is this RV new to you - are there service records?

If a ball joint is rattling, I would be more concerned about what happened to the grease. If one is greased properly, I don't know what part could be rattling. I would love to see a picture of one after its removed.
