Batteries issue

Hello Everyone,
I need help from you guys.
1.My chassis battery are completely dead. MH is connected to the shore power. I read in some post that if MH is connected to shore power it also charges chassis battery.
2. House battery seems to have flooded. ( water seems to be coming out of negative and positive screws) Also the have got bulge.

My question is what should I have to crank the engine again or how do I charge the battery again. Also the house battery what should I do as it is flooded. Thanks guys for help.

First thought is your batteries are being overcharged or shorting out. If a battery is bulging that is dangerous and I imagine it is hot. Similar thing happened to a friend and it turned out to be a bad battery that shorted out and took two others with it. Disconnect power and start checking your batteries - they are boiling over!

Mahakal,
As has been suggested, you most likely have an issue with one or more of your house batteries. One or more of the cells of one of them could be shorted and in many cases, the charger will not know how to handle that type of scenario and will just continued to charge without backing off. Hence, that's why you're getting a bulge, due to over charging.

A good starting point would be to:
1. If you have one, turn off the "house battery" switch in the coach.
2. Take pictures/draw them if you have to, to show the wiring and routing of the cables and any other wiring on the battery posts, (if it's complicated, some aren't) so that when it comes time to put everything back, you'll have a resource to go by for wiring them all up again.
3. Remove and clean the batteries, clean the battery tray.
4. Get the house batteries tested. Use a hydrometer to try and determine the specific gravity of each cell. A reading of around 1.265 and up would be a good thing. Anything lower than that, especially if it hovers at 1.200 or in the 1.1 area, TROUBLE!

Now, once everything is clean and ready to reinstall, install all and put the wiring/terminals (which also have been thoroughly inspected for corrosion migration up the insulation)

Now, check the voltage at the house batteries without the coach plugged into shore power. Record it.
Now, plug it in. Check the voltage again. It should be higher as what ever system you have, INVERTER/CHARGER or, Converter, should be charging them.

Ok, that takes care of the house batteries. Now, for the chassis batteries. Don't assume that just because your house batteries are charged while on shore power, so are the chassis batteries. Because in many, many coaches, that did not happen until the mid '06 time frame. On some they charged but, on most they didn't.

A simple test will reveal whether they're being charged on shore power or not. Do the same test with the voltage as you did with the house batteries. And that is, check the voltage without being plugged into shore power. Record it. Then, plug into shore power. Now, check the voltage again. You most likely will not find any change. There's no guaranty you won't or will. Lots of things are different on these coaches.

But, in the event you do not find any change in voltage in the chassis batteries before and after plugging into shore power, then, some investigation is in order. You'll have to find out if, and it's a big IF, your coach is supposed to be charging the chassis batteries or not, if plugged in. If not, then if you'd like for them to be charge while on shore power, you have at least a few choices. But, those can be suggested later, if you want. Let us know what you find out on the house batteries.

Use caution. Batteries are dangerous and can explode if not handled properly. Disconnect using the switch or remove the ground wire. Also, I would seek help from a knowledgeable friend.

I would be reluctant to try to charge a bulging battery... just kiss it off --and if replacing the batteries, all in that bank should be the same type and age. The electrolyte should never come out around the terminals unless the case has cracked...
