Last July on our trip back to Florida from Minnesota, one of the Freightliner "beepers" under the dash started beeping and continued all the way home. I realize I could contact Freightliner but they would need to know which one it is. After searching under the dash for months, yesterday I located the beeper and it is for the parking brake and was located behind the instrament panel. The parking brake works normally, there are no air leaks in the system, but the alarm sounds any time the coach is in gear, but not in nuetral. I think the sensor for the brake may be faulty. Has anyone else had this problem? The chassis is a 2000 XC Freightliner, the coach is a 2001 Sporscoach. Thanks for your help, DACOTAH

Now that you have identified which one it is .. call 800-FTL-HELP during routine business hours and the technician on the phone may be able to walk you through this issue.

Can you simply unplug the beeper?

Yes, I did unplug the beeper for now since it was driving us crazy! I plan on contacting Freightliner, they have been so helpful in the past, but I am curious if any one else has had this problem on IRV2. DACOTAH

Yes, I've had the exact same problem. The sensor for it is located along the frame rail on the driver side just in front of the rear axle. I ordered the part from Freightliner in Gafney. The Freightliner help desk helped me identify the problem, told me where to look for the sensor, and let me know that I could order from Freightliner. Cost was $89.92 with shipping.

It has a wiring connector, and connectors to the air line. It's a little hard to reach when you're under the coach but I changed mine without much trouble.

Fred

I had the problem last spring on my 2000 XCS Freightliner and I called Freightliner Customer Service. I got the same information that Fred Cooper got but the beeping went away. I took a note for the future if it ever returns. It looks a little hard to get to.

Thanks Fred and Jim, Freightliner E-mailed me about the sensor and did not tell me where it was located so your posts really help. Next time I'm at the motorhome I will look for the sensor. Thanks Again, DACOTAH
