I assume from the question re: Bilstein, that you are going to replace them. My question is why are you replacing them... do you feel that they are worn out. If that is the case I would call Bilstein first... they told me that Bilstein shocks never wear out.

36' allegro red dp...it came with Sachs shocks.
Now have 33000 miles on the odo.. It rides and handles pretty darn good. But now find it nose dives on medium to hard brakeing. Several rv mechs that do ride and handleing work at the local RV dealership tells me that (generally) the oem shocks loose their jounce and rebound effectiveness at about 25-3000 miles.. (visual inspection show no signs of leakage)
A lot of my trekking is on I10 from Florida to the west coast. There is a strech in La. I10 to 112 that makes my rig shake, rattle and roll, hopeing a set of Bilstiens can smooth some if it out.

Before you make the decision to buy Bilsteins, you might like to read some of the threads on changing shocks. Many on this forum think that Koni shock are worth replacing the Bilsteins. There have been several owners that say the ride was greatly improved with the Koni's.
PS, I am still riding on Bilsteins and, at present, don't feel a need to switch.

Romeo..thank you
i am also looking at Koni's FSD ..it is a toss up, like Ford or Chevy.
i have read that the Koni FSD is designed to dampen the effects of driving on bumpy, patched up roads like you find in states that hire contractors that do lousy repairs (low bidders and kick back)

the only way to smooth out I-10 and I-20 is to avoid them.
The expansion joints rattle us pretty well to, some even get both axles at the same time.
i have driven over both highways for well over 30 years and they have never been smooth in any vehicle
Mississippi and Louisiana have to be the worse
although I 12 is a strong runner up

New shocks may help the porpoising (nose dive while stopping), however, IMHO new Bilsteins, Konis or God isn't going to smooth out those sections of I-10 and I-12 until Louisiana tears them up and replaces them. The only thing that helps through those areas is to slow way down. I replaced the Sachs with Konis 3 years ago and that road is still rough.
