Brake light switch. Where is it located ?
I've been having an intermittent problem with the brake light switch on my Dutch Star (Freightliner chassis w/ 3126B Cat)
Occasionally the brake light will not go off when the vehicle is parked and ignition in off position. When this occurs the cruise control (which I am presuming gets discontinued when this switch gets activated by the brake pedal) will also not operate. Again, it's an intermittent problem and will sometimes not show itself for many miles. Until I can fix this condition I check the brake lights whenever I stop and remove the fuse in the panel to keep the battery from draining if this happens.
Can someone tell me where this switch is located ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Assuming air brakes as in mine, it is a pressure switch located close to the brake pedal valve under the floor.

There are two brake light switchs in the foot valve , under the floor, below the brke pedal. Easiest to get to with the gen set rolled out and locked so you can slide under and sit up, for access.
My problem was cruise control cut out when wet. Problem was corrosion on the face of the switches, when the corrosion was wet it passed enough power to cut out the cruise. Cleaned off the corrosion and coated with a non-conductive grease; two years no repeat of the problem.
The 2 switches is so , if one side of the air brakes looses air the second switch will still activate the brake lights and shut down the cruise.

Thanks Skip. That information is gold. This stuff is new to me, as is the coach. I found the valve and saw the 2 switches. I wondered about why 2. One looks easier to get at than the other. I have a Onan LP generator that doesn't look like it is on a slide so getting to the switch on the passenger side of the air valve may be a problem. I'll put my meter on both and see which one is making the circuit. You can probably guess which one it will be :(
