I have a 1990 Allegro, 5.9 Cummins on a chassis that has paperwork that says John Deere then Oshgosh which then I guess became Freightliner
The oshgosh manual says MC-FD. front and back disc brakes are Dayton Walther.
Not sure where to look for parts. Need new front disc pads.

Should I start with local Freightliner ?
Thanks any info.

I am assuming these are hydraulic brakes. I would not bothet with any of the big dealers. They will not have any parts for that chassis in stock. Are you doing the work yourself? If so any good parts store ( Not Pep Boys or Checkers ,etc.)that carries HD truck parts should be able to help you. You may have to bring your pads, etc. with you so that they can identify the part #'s. A GOOD brake supply house will have a book called "FMS". I may have left off a letter. It is the bible published the Friction Materials Standard Institute. Every shoe and pad is listed with sizes, etc. If you are not doing the work yourself then an independent truck repair facility should be able to help you. I would look for one that does fleet repairs for city pu and delivery vehicles.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'll be doing it myself. Good advice. Thanks.

Well, couldn't find a parts place that could help. Went to Freightliner...no problem, pads in stock, brake hoses ordered.
