Cab Air

I am looking for troubleshooting info on my freightliner chassis a wiring diagram or a system flow chart would help. My clutch will not engage and my static pressure is at 75PSI. I checked the fuse and it,s OK.

Access Feightliner

It won't happen overnight, takes almost a week, but if you apply for permission to get on the AccessFreightliner.com site you can access the entire freightliner service procedures, diagrams and everything the service techs have access to. To apply you simply have to go to the site and fill out your request. After some processing time freightliner will send you a user name and password to allow you to gain access. If you can figure it out on your own there is everything needed to fully service you individual coach.

Good Luck.

The other option is to call the tech assistance number.

You might try to jumper the pressure switch.

A few things to check without a wiring diagram. When you have the a/c on and the dash fan running, is there power to the compressor clutch?

Next, disconnect the clutch and see if it is a closed or open circuit...should be closed.

Net check your fuses for an A/C fuse. See if it is good.

I found the problem, I checked voltage at the clutch connector 13V and resistance thru the clutch 4 ohm, should work. I read a post that someone had posted about the connector being corroded so I cleaned it up and connected it three or four time. Still didn't work. I stabbed the wire right were it goes into the clutch and had no voltage. Removed the wire from a little rubber guide right at the clutch to see if that short piece of wire was broken and it looked good. Started the engine and the clutch engaged. Worked for my last weekend trip about 5 hours of travel time.

Thanks for the replies I am trying to get registered at AccessFreightliner but keep getting denied. I need to visit my locale dealer.

Verify if you are the registered owner with Freightliner Custom Chassis. If you are, you shouldn't be denied access.

In the 'Freightliner Flyer' 2nd Quater 2010 Newsletter, go to TEC TIP on pages 20 and 21. There are instructions on how to sign up for Access Freightliner. This link will take you to the Freightliner Chassic Owners Club web site and the What's New page where you will find the link to the Newsletter. new_fcoc_web

I did this the other day and everything worked fine.
