Hi all thanks for such a great site, New to the RV ing and pretty much a complete "idiot" when it comes to things mechanical (oh joy) but willing to try and learn. Saw that camp frightlinner is being offered 2014 and wondering if that would be a good thing to attend, remember I am lucking if I know which is the engine and which is the Gen-Set.
Thanks

Cookin;

I have never been to camp Freightliner but it is in my Things to Do list for next year. That being said I have heard from several that have been there and they speak very favorable about it. Hopefully someone will jump in here who has been there and can answer your question first hand.

I attended C.F in Aug of 2011 after buying my first diesel m/h a year earlier. I was amazed with the info I received that I had NO knowledge of re: our coach. It was such an eye opener and it covered so many preventive maintenance items I was not aware of or had the knowledge of how to find out about them. The manual you receive in class is very thick and covers everything on the FL chassis including your particular VIN # as you have to tell them your number when you sign up. I would go again just to refresh my memory. It is well worth the cost, especially if you are a do-it-yourself maintenance person. At the very least, when you have to take it in for a chassis problem, you can at least be somewhat educated when you discuss the problem with the service manager so he/she won't know how much wool to pull over your eyes.

Another benefit is the lunch for both days is included.

2x doorguy. I attended April 2013. Excellent practical information. You will save money, time, and future problems with the MH. You will also find it entertaining with Mike's presentation. Also plan on having your MH seviced by the best.

Safe travels and THE JOY IS IN THE RIDE

I highly recommend it. I learned a lot and even got a particular piece of information about my specific chassis which will save me money. Food is pretty good, too.

Without question!! I attended in July of '12, before I had even bought my coach. I did learn a lot there, but realize in retrospect that I also did not fully understand some things because I had never before operated a large diesel powered vehicle.

I've now been operating our coach for over a year, and I plan to go back to Camp Freightliner again at the earliest opportunity (currently on the wait list for Oct 14-15 this fall). It is highly valuable training, and I would recommend it unequivocally.

In the top forum is a sticky thread titled 2014 camp freightliner classes. Clicking on that will give you the link to the 2014 schedule. They don't list the 2013 classes any more perhaps because they are booked up. If you are thinking about 2013 classes call 800-385-4357 and they can help you with that.

NO!! That's the 24/7 emergency assist number. For Camp Freightliner info, call Syndi Hamrick directly at 864 206-8267.
