I spent Monday and Tuesday at Camp Freightliner in Gaffney, SC. It was time and money very well spent. Mike Cody has an unbelievable grasp of the Freighliner chassis and everything attached to it. In the two days there was not a single question for which he did not have an answer. An awesome class and a first class operation all the way.

I spent Wednesday and Thursday in Gaffney at Camp Freightliner. Everything Paul said and more is true. First class operation. Mike Cody is outstanding.

We went Thursday/Friday of last week. Mike does know what he's talking about after years of working on it...and tells you he has a "no BS" clause. He just won't do it.

We learned a lot...had brain overload...still stumbling on the POLLACK dash info center. Didn't have time to work on it while there, darn it. We'll get it now, or else!

It's definitely worth the time/money. However, if you are a super-dooper mechanic that knows it all already, don't go!

How do you find the dates of these "camps"? We would love to go, but need more information.

I attended Camp Ftl not too long ago and totally agree with everyone else. A must do class. Even if you don't ever plan to work on your coach you come away armed with knowledge to know what a service center is talking about and whether or not they are trying to pull one over on you. You definitely have a bad case of information overload when you leave but you have a lot of material to look back on when the need or desire arises. Mike knows his stuff.

Thanks for the great info! I just confirmed Oct 13th & 14th for Camp Freightliner and scheduled my M3 Service, Generator Service and Chassis Inspection for the same timeframe. Plan to stay in the Pinecone Campground.

Anybody have this all done recently? Trying to get an idea how big the bill will be...

Ask Pat, she'll tell you. Be on friendly terms with a bank loan officer.

I recieved the following response from Freightliner: <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">The M3 Maintenance includes engine oil and filter, in fact it replaces all filter and fluids unless otherwise specified. You may view the M3 on this website and we will review it upon your arrival here. The estimated cost of M3 is between 950-1200.00 depending on items not needed due to age of coach. The plant tour will be done as a part of the Camp Freightliner.

You are welcome to come into the campground at the service center on Sunday night in preparation for your appt on Monday morning. Appts for Pinecone have to be made in advance and are done by you. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I guess I'll have to keep Norma out of the Factory Stores while we are there.

Tom,

Don't worry about the factory stores. Worry about the nice shopping center one exit down.

While you're there, go north on Rt 11 (the Service Center/Camp Freightliner is on Rt 11) about 8 or so miles to the Rt 11 Cafe. Best melt in you mouth steaks this side of heaven. Filet Mignon that would feed a family of four for about $16. It's an old converted wooden general store/gas station. It's a "don't miss" food stop!

Jim,

Thanks for the restaurant tip! We will have to try it out. We plan to head North after and see some fall colors on the way to Oswego, NY. Plan is to visit family, do some site seeing and then head back to Florida.
